Lake Tahoe and Olympic Valley are renowned across the globe for their majestic mountain views and fabulous ski slopes that attract many enthusiasts from all over the US. It is in the heart of this beautiful landscape that designed by Aspen Leaf Interiors sits.
Draped with wood on the outside the home tries to combine the cozy atmosphere of a classic mountain home with sleek contemporary aesthetics to offer the best of both worlds. The interior of the house is simple unassuming and devoid of bold color to ensure that the focus remains firmly on the landscape outside.
The vertical space inside the apartment is used to the hilt with a mezzanine-level bedroom overlooking the spacious kitchen and dining area below. The living space is inherently simple with a bright blue couch at the heart of it all.
Carefully planned cutouts shape the new basement-level music room and the lap pool next to the home even as the private spaces feel relaxed and inviting. Still inherently traditional and yet unmistakably modern on the inside this is a bushland home that bridges two different design philosophies.
Designed by Jaime Ortiz de Zevallos the home features an interior that is completely hidden from the world outside. Yet the rear part of the house opens up toward the garden and pool area with a cantilevered bedroom section providing shade for the outdoor living space below.
