Designed by Jaime Ortiz de Zevallos the home features an interior that is completely hidden from the world outside. Yet the rear part of the house opens up toward the garden and pool area with a cantilevered bedroom section providing shade for the outdoor living space below.
Wooden cabinets and wonderful fireplaces add contrast and warmth to an interior that otherwise is homogenous. A nifty staircase connects the lower living area with the bedrooms on the top level even as the spa zone next to the deck completes a modern home that is understated and exquisite.
Dubbed the house is spread across four different levels and each level seems like a natural extension of the one below. It is the ground floor with its sweeping living area kitchen and dining area that sets the tone for the private levels above and the basement below.
It is an arrangement that offers both privacy and the best possible views from every room of the cabin. The rectangular form of the cabin its understated design and perfect form improve the insulation and ensure that no heat is lost during the cold winter months.
Despite these limitations turns out to be a stunning residence that blurs the line between the interior and the landscape around it even while creating a sense of privacy and modernity. At the core of this design are two simple rectangular volumes with the lower unit holding the living areas and the top block containing the private spaces.
