Designed by SeARCH the overall form of Chalet Anzère was inspired by traditional chalet design and construction in this part of Switzerland. Unlike more contemporary and commercial structures with multiple gables the design of this magical modern home is far more ergonomic and suited to the local weather. A garage towards the back of the home offers entry into the fabulous abode with an elevator carved into the mountain connecting its three different levels.
But it is the unmistakable presence of the dark spiral staircase that instantly grabs your attention and soon you are left marveling at the ingenious accent wall behind it. Created using a large number of plates in blue and white the feature adds a touch of spark and style to an otherwise unassuming space.
With a stylish dining space and a fabulous modern coastal-style kitchen the living area is both easy on the eyes and practical in design. An outdoor deck and hangout extend the living room with the smart bedrooms and bathrooms also embracing the coastal charm.
Filled with motifs cultural elements and values inspired by Persian culture and concepts of Mithraism the home is influenced by the presence of the sun which plays a pivotal role in setting the tone. In fact ancient symbols that represent the sun appear throughout the residence which is designed by Studio Persian Primavera.
The concrete staircase in the living room acts as an aesthetic and symbolic element with the small kitchen in the corner and the smart lighting fixtures complementing the overall theme and visual aura. Triangles and dodecagons inside the home also point to the sun metaphorically while ushering in geometric style and contrast. When it comes to modern homes in 2016 House of the Sun is truly one of the most unique and impressive works!
Large glass panes and doors opened up the house to the curated new landscape outside and the outdoor lounge now seems like an organic extension of the interior. Wood siding is another major feature that defines the house gives it a distinct façade and also keeps the timeless Eichler appeal intact.
The living area is highlighted by the beautiful blue sectional on one side and a contemporary fireplace on the other with built-in seating next to it. Flowing into the dining area and the adjacent kitchen the entire interior seems like one large social zone where each space melts into the next in an effortless fashion.
