Designed by Jaime Ortiz de Zevallos the home features an interior that is completely hidden from the world outside. Yet the rear part of the house opens up toward the garden and pool area with a cantilevered bedroom section providing shade for the outdoor living space below.
Is a project that demanded all of these qualities as this brown brick cottage from the 1800s was in need of an elegant and urgent modern makeover. It is the creative folks from extrArchitecture who accomplished this as they completely transformed the classic London home on the inside even while keeping the street façade largely intact.
Dubbed the house is spread across four different levels and each level seems like a natural extension of the one below. It is the ground floor with its sweeping living area kitchen and dining area that sets the tone for the private levels above and the basement below.
Draped in wood on the outside large glass windows connect the prefab with the world outside visually. Sliding wooden doors cover up these windows and offer complete privacy when needed even as the modest interior adopts a modern beach style.
