Lake Tahoe and Olympic Valley are renowned across the globe for their majestic mountain views and fabulous ski slopes that attract many enthusiasts from all over the US. It is in the heart of this beautiful landscape that designed by Aspen Leaf Interiors sits.
Designed by Angelique Buisson is one such smart chalet that combines modernity a sense of minimalism comfort and elegance even while staying true to the classic image of an alpine Chalet. With imposing mountains outside the window and a carpet of white the Holiday Season here is sure to be absolutely magical!
Designed to meet the demands of a family with a young child and a dog the modern-minimal interior had to be both refined and kid-friendly without seeming far too sterile or impersonal. This was accomplished using a combination of raw textures and wood along with a neutral backdrop and pops of bright color.
Dubbed the house is spread across four different levels and each level seems like a natural extension of the one below. It is the ground floor with its sweeping living area kitchen and dining area that sets the tone for the private levels above and the basement below.
It is the first level that houses the living area along with the kitchen the dining space and the gorgeous garden while the half-sunken basement provides ample parking space a home office and service areas. The third and fourth levels hold the bedrooms and private spaces and also offer both textural and visual contrast with their wood screen and cantilevered form. Refreshing inviting and undoubtedly contemporary it is the box-like design and cubic form that win at House M.
